Mahindra had sold a total of 16,800 tractors in the same month previous year, the company said in a statement.
“We are happy with the 38 per cent growth during April. We feel that this is on the back of improved market sentiments,” Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s farm equipment sector chief executive Rajesh Jejurikar said.
In addition, the expectation of a normal monsoon is clearly being seen as a positive indicator, he added.
While the domestic sales increased by 38 per cent to 22,196 units, exports grew by 34 per cent to 1,006 units during April, the company said.
